Pre-accredited programs offer basic or introductory training for people who want to take the first step back into learning.
As a Learn Local organisation, we offer a range of education and training programs designed to meet your learning needs. We can help you return to study, improve your reading, writing and maths skills, gain a qualification, get a job or learn something new.
The following is a brief description of the courses currently on offer. Please phone the office for further information or to register your expression to enrol in a class.

Computers:
Ready to Work, Digital Matters, MS Office Next Step
10 weekly sessions 10am – 2pm (Ready to Work, MS Office Next Step)
Beginner & intermediate courses to help you gain confidence with Windows, Excel Spreadsheets, Resume Writing and much more.
6 weekly 1 hour sessions (Digital Matters)
Skills to live, learn & work in a Digital World. Flexible relaxed learning about zoom, online study & online shopping. Including how to set up your devices, online accounts , safely navigating the internet & Bluetooth & Wi-Fi connectivity.
No experience needed!
Introduction to Hair
10 weekly sessions 10am – 2.00pm
Always wanted to try your skills in the Hairdressing Industry? Want to start your career in a hairdressing environment? Now is your chance.
Course content includes: OHS; team work; analysing hair; preparing clients; shampooing; head massage; blow drying techniques & working with clients.

Introduction to Floristry
7 weekly sessions 10am – 2pm
Would you like to learn how to create hand tied posies & stunning centre pieces? Start your career in floristry?
This course covers: flower identification & storage; basic flower handling & use of floristry tools.


Becoming a Barista
1 weekly session 10am – 2pm (All terms)
Looking to gain employment in a café and kick start your career in the hospitality industry?
Session will include:

Introduction to Hospitality
10 weekly sessions from 10am – 2pm
Would you like to build on your cooking skills? The focus of this course is to develop your confidence in the kitchen while socialising, cooking and enjoying affordable and nutritious meals.

Try a Trade for Women
10 weekly sessions 10am – 2pm
Have you ever thought about trying a trade? Learn skills in a hands on fun learning environment for women. Course delivary will give insight into various trades including automotive, carpentry and bricklayng. Come along and build your confidence in handling small tools and gaining skills and knowledge that could lead to future study or employment in a trade environment.

Introduction to Horticulture
10 weekly sessions from 10am – 2pm
Want to learn new skills, start your own business or enrol in further study? Come on down and learn in a fun garden environment.

Introduction to Construction & Painting
10 weekly sessions from 10am - 2pm
Climb the ladder to a colourful career. Work with your hands while you learn new skills you can use across the building and construction industry, as well as specific skills in painting and decorating.
This project based program will include: plan & organise work; measure & calculate; use of small hand tools; work safety; preparing surfaces for painting &staining.


Get ready for work in Office Admin
5 weekly sessions from 10am – 1pm
Wanting to pursue a career in an office administration environment? This course will help you build confidence while familiarizing yourself with general office duties. Skills will include,
